Perinatal Hospice

Abstract

Perinatal hospice is an expanding field in the last decade due to the advances of perinatal diagnosis. Once parents qualify for perinatal hospice, interactions between the hospital of delivery and the hospice institution take place. A birth plan is developed. Preparation for the care of the infant whether in the hospital or at home is discussed. Caring for families after the death of the infant is critical. Follow-up with families is recommended.
